Wrought Iron Courting Candle
Description
These stylish candles were used during Victorian, days when courting was still fashionable. When the suitor would come courting dad would light the candle. When the candle burned down to the metal holder courting time was over. If the young man was rich and showed some promise dad would raise the candle to give him more time. If he was a shady looking character dad would lower the candle and cut his time in half.
